Voluntary Phased Retirement Program

Cleveland State University's Voluntary Phased Retirement Program for full-time Faculty is designed to provide eligible faculty members, subject to approval, a transition pathway from their regular full-time role to a part-time role to retirement, while preserving healthcare benefits at a full-time contribution rate, throughout University employment.

The Voluntary Phased Retirement Program Administrative Guidelines provide additional information regarding program details, eligibility guidelines, and application procedures.


Agreement Form

In order to participate in the Program, a faculty member must complete the Voluntary Phased Retirement Agreement Form no later than September 15 of the respective year.  For consideration for the 2024-25 academic year, the date has been extended to Friday, January 19, 2024.  The Agreement Form must be signed by the faculty member, Department Chair/School Director and Dean.  Approval from the Provost is also required.  The completed and signed Agreement Form will serve as a written agreement between the faculty member and the University.
