WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS AS A STUDENT?
As a public institution of higher education, Cleveland State University seeks to advance knowledge, promote scholarship and create an environment conducive to the intellectual and personal growth and development of all its students. In keeping with these aims, a full list of student rights is located in the Student Code of Conduct.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT?
All updated policies are maintained on the Policy Register website. Look under ā€˜Sā€™ for Student Code of Conduct in University policies or click this link.

HOW CAN I FILE A CONDUCT COMPLAINT?
If you feel the need to make a complaint involving a violation of the Student Conduct Code, please email communitystandards@csuohio.edu. Or you may reach out to the Division of Student Belonging & Success via email at sbs@csuohio.edu. You may also call 216.687.2048 and ask to speak to the Community Standards Office. Once contact is made, you will schedule a meeting to review concerns with a conduct officer and discuss options for filing a complaint. 

WHO HEARS CASES AND APPLIES SANCTIONS?
Cases are reviewed, investigated, and adjudicated by trained Campus Engagement staff. A full outline of the various processes for adjudication can be found in the Student Code of Conduct.

WHAT TYPE OF RECORDS ARE KEPT?
Student conduct records are included as part of the academic record. All relevant case documentation is maintained in a case management system which falls under the protection of the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Additional information on FERPA can be found by clicking here.
